The Wave 1 response

1. a. The setting of this book took place in about the 1970's and it was at Gordon High school. b. One clue that I got from the author that the setting took place in a earlier time period was that for the school paper they had typewriters to right everything instead of a computer. Also in order to watch a movie the film had to be threaded. 2. The sentence that stood out to me the most is the sentence that said '' Ben thought of telling the students that the smoke rising from the chimneys above the buildings was from burning human flesh''. This sentence stood out to me the most and I thought that it was important because the author gave us some information that he didn't give the students. I also feel that it was very unique how the author worded that so that only we would know that information. 3. Describe what similarities this school has with our school.

Dont mind the first comment, but I loved the quote you chose because it was so descriptive. One of the similarites I think the school in the book has in common with our school is that Mr. Ross thinks outside the box like a lot of teachers at HTM. Another way is is that Mr. Ross came up with a creative way to explain the Nazi horror to his students, and so would our teachers. Great paragraphs!
